How To Care For An Orchid
Orchid’s are beautiful, attractive plants that are often used as gifts. If you have been given an Orchid as a gift you may be wondering how to care for an orchid plant. They don’t look like ordinary plants and definitely don’t smell like roses. In fact, they don’t grow in soil either. So are they self-sustaining? Do you have to take care of them or just leave them alone, sort of like a Bonsai Tree.
Tips To Taking Care of Your Orchid Plant
- Place your Orchid in a well lit area but not in direct sunlight. Orchid’s enjoy indirect light source so make sure you face it towards a window that doesn’t get direct sunlight.
- Keep your Orchid in a cool place with minimal heat. Orchids do well in an office or school setting because the temperature is moderate and lacks humidity. You can, however, spritz your plant about once a month to mimic occasional rain.
- Water your plant once a week or every other week. Completely saturate the roots when you water your plant. Let it completely drain of water before putting it back on its shelf or desk.
